VeriSign® Intercarrier Multimedia Messaging
Service (ICMMS) allows subscribers to send pictures, audio and video
between different wireless service providers and devices, allowing opportunities
for exciting new service offerings and incremental revenue generation.
ICMMS leverages the efficient service bureau
model, which connects wireless service providers' multimedia messaging
centers (MMSCs) via a messaging hub, and routes MMS messages between
service providers.

messaging traffic increased more than 300% in 2006, once interoperability
was established among wireless carriers.
Security and Reliability
Through the service bureau model, wireless

and fully redundant Network Operating Center. ICMMS integrates seamlessly
with the service provider's existing operations, support, and reporting
tools, to handle routing, messaging protocol conversions, billing information,
statistics and other services.
Standards based
Messages are exchanged with ICMMS via the standard
MMS messaging interface, MM4 (over SMTP). ICMMS is fully compliant with
industry (3GPP, OMA and 3G Americas) specifications.
