Marketing Tools for Registrars - Renewals
VeriSign has created some marketing tools that
are available for use. Use of these tools is entirely optional and they
can be made available to resellers, as well.
Best Practices Guide for Domain Name Renewals
This guide provides recommendations for registrars
towards building a comprehensive and effective renewal program, or increasing
the effectiveness of your current renewal programs. It includes tips
for renewal programs and recommended schedule for addressing renewals.
This guide is a living document that will be
updated from time-to-time, so check back for new versions.

Sample Renewal Messages
VeriSign has prepared a set of e-mail templates
(HTML and TXT) for your use in renewal campaigns. Each has placeholders
for information that should be customized for your customers and different
headlines to address the different stages of the renewal process (a
recommended schedule is covered in the Best Practices guide).
The template also includes placeholders for
any special offers or discounts you want to include, as well as a space
for renewal instructions and administrative content. You should feel
free to modify the template as needed for your own purposes.
In addition, VeriSign has prepared IDN-specific
messaging that highlights the value proposition for IDNs as related
to renewals. These are available in English, Simplified Chinese and
Korean.

Marketing Reports on Expiring Names
VeriSign is now generating a new set of reports
for registrars that provides a list of domain names due to expire within
30, 60, and 90 days. These lists are intended to save you some time
and effort and ease the outreach effort as expiration dates approach.
The lists, combined with the marketing tools we have provided can establish
a good starting point for a renewal campaign. These lists are available
on the Registrar FTP servers.
